Why is everyone weak?

These movies are annoying, theyre all trained the same, yet two of them *beep* all over the rest.

Hell, the girl can barely beat the gang trying to kill them. Whole life of training, for nothing?

reply

Because it's a girl. The good guy and the bad guy were better than the rest. If you train 50 people in a martial art for 10 years, in 10 years they're not going to all be at the same skill level.

So, girl with 10 years of martial arts can only get hurt?

reply

Against a bunch of men? She'd be lucky to not get gang-raped.

The girl was pathetic. I can understand getting overwhelmed but she couldn't even beat a single thug at a time.

Exactly.
In the beginning of the movie, she was beating the main character in the duel by being faster than him each time he was about to strike.
It was basically suggesting that she was highly trained and extremely skilled.

Yet throughout the rest of the movie, she can't hardly defend herself against thugs who most likely had far less martial arts and combat experience than she did.

IT was all laughably stupid and bad.

I actually liked it since it showed just how well a real trained woman would do in a street fight against guys.

I've had it with the super powered lara croft/charlie's angels type of women. This woman was a lot more realistic.

She showed that she had some pretty good moves one on one, with rules to guide you with....

But in a real live street fight with fit men all looking over 6 feet tall, there's not much she can do.

If she fought these thugs one on one with a bo staff with rules, than I have no doubts she'd beat them. But not in the streets.

I agree with Rijotan, she may be extremely well trained, but men are that much stronger than woman based on size alone. That's why she was able to hold them off, but she definitely wasn't about to knock out a 6 foot or taller thug.

reply

Is that why I know a girl who's 5'3 and knocked at 3 guys who had and least 5 inches on her?
Women can fight. And they can do it well. When you show a highly skilled female fighter then have her get her ass handed to her by a couple thugs... Yeah. That's what we folks with intelligence like to call a "fück up". Perhaps you've heard of them? It's completely outdated and idiotic to think that women can't fight and knock a guy out. If they're a better fighter than you, they're a better fighter than you. Plain and simple.

There is, unseen by most, an underworld...a place that is just as real, but not as brightly lit...

well im 14 stone, 6ft 1,and i dont care how highly trained a woman is,,id run at her and smash her face on the floor or bite her nose off etc, i know 95 % of women aint gunna be able to man handle 14 stone of muscle and some fat lol,,it aint happening, maybe if she was a body builder then yes,
but then again i have had 15 yrs of martial arts training, and fortunately i trained under some of the best in hong kong too,
if i were to get in a ring with a woman , then MAYBE she could show me up,,but in a street fight, no rules, so said woman is getting hammered.

reply

No, but it is why all kinds of competetive sport (martial arts and not) is gender divided. Women are physically inferior, get with it

In the beginning, Casey and her were sparring. And he was holding back. She was being playful. That's why the master told them to clear their minds.

If you look at her fight scenes, when she is faced with one on one battle, she was holding her own. But when she gets attacked by more than one, she struggled. She wasn't at a master level in fighting. She is skilled but not at the same level as Casey.

She is like everyone else in the school who died easily when facing Masazuka. Even as a team, they couldn't touch him.

Even Casey was not the same level as Masazuka. He got beaten quite a lot by Masazuka. In the last battle, he won by clearing his mind.

I think that's what upset me the most about this movie, a girl with that many years of training could easily defeat some wannabe gangsters... In the first movie she's only here to be rescued and in the second she's only her to get murdered. Nice. Once again it shows the limits of badly written action movies.
