I must say, it was a great movie...if you are into ninjas then this is a good movie. But it wasn't Casey (the good guy) that showed us how it is killing ninjastyle instead it was Masazuka the bad guy who showed what a ninja can do with the right equipment and motivation.
I enjoyed all the parts with Masazuka, he truly delivered genuine ninjastyle action. The blood really ran in this movie..lots of it, and the action felt good, with nice stunts where the hits really seemed to hurt a lot (not like Jackie Chang, where each guy receives 20 punches and still fights on).

The scenery felt a lot like the 90'ies, i loved it alot. But i wondered where the black people went in this movie??? Not that it matters, but it made me wondering...

Anyway, if you like ninja films then this is a good one!
And if anything, you will feel more sympathy for the bad ninja than the good one. The bad one felt more human while the good one was actually more evil playing all good. I mean, shouldnt the good ones give people a second chance and not just throw them out on the street?
Thats why i felt more for the bad one...it wasn't his fault!

Maybe they feel they didn`t had to have black people in this film. Or just didn`t have any role for black man. Just like some films where they don`t need to a white man.

I guess the reason for they didn`t, was they couldn`t find any black man in Bulgaria where it was filmed. Even though it supposed to be set in USA.

He didn't "kind of try", he actively tried. Why you are making excuses for that I don't know. Trying to kill a fellow student violates the sanctity of any school and after that you cannot keep the offender in place because he might always try again and if then he succeeds, you as the teacher are to blame for the death of a student.

You're funny. He tried to kill a fellow student in a non-lethal training match and you think it wasn't his fault.

You have a strange idea of what's acceptable behavior. Not that it seemed completely ridiculous in the movie anyway.

Sure thing he kind of tried...but at the same time, he had been living there all his life so they must have hated the guy all the time and just waited for an opportunity...and as usual the teacher suddenly became heartles. For me thats crueler than trying killing a pro ninja in a fight when adrenalin went up.

I am really sick of the people complaining about the lack of black men in some movie. Did anyone of these idiots complain about the entirely black cast of some movies like 'Meteor Man'? Did they complain about the black Orpheus in that "Hallmark" movie? Did they complain about the racism in the 'Rush Hour' movies?

There aren't enough black people in Bulgaria, where the movie is shot. We have to import them, and this is costly for the production.

Really? Do you also feel sick when some [white] people complain about the lack of white people in some of the "black movies". Movies that take place in predominately black areas or that involve a black family that is. Even then I still have yet to see a movie that did not have a white character of some sort. I think you are another one of those double standards types. And by the way 'The Meteor Man' had at least two white people in the film. I assume you mean main characters? Don't get me started with the number of films that have only whites as main characters.



In ninja films there always is a black person..and actually a black person is better suited as ninja...even if he is undressed he is ninja.

But still, the disturbing part is that the real ninja here was the bad guy..but he wasnt bad in the first place, he just didnt get love and attention from the tutor...guess how it is with children that get no good attention, just when they do something wrong they get bad too...

In the original series there was Steve James as Jackson, he was good, better martial artist than Dudikoff in fact. RIP Steve.

I think I understand what he is saying. They are supposed to be in new york and c'mon you guys know what new york looks like but yet you dont see any latinos no hispanics nand no black people? It looks awkward corny and unrealistic. Nobody actually believes its new york. Its like that with "The Sheperd" too. That aint mexico. It looks like eastern europe and there are no real mexicans in the movie just about and they speak spanish with an accent. Wouldnt it have been cheaper and easier to film the movie in mexico. I like florentine but he can do things cheap lowbudget half ass way of doing things sometimes.

The woman who told Casey about his mother was black. There was a black man in the board room when Masazuka was about to go to the police station. There were two black officers at the front desk of the police station.

My question is, where were the Puerto Ricans in this movie?

the filmmakers made the film they wanted to make without succumbing to the pressure of being politically correct. good for them. do what you want, not what others want you to do.

I am actually Indian, I have no problem. The problem is, why must black people as where are the black people. It's context is racist in itself. I could care less, as black support blacks and white do the same. Blacks get away with racist statements all the time...the double standard.

Race in Ninja does not matter darn it...not every Hollywood movie needs to be inspected for lack of blacks. Do I wish Indian people got more roles, sure, but I will not bring it up 100 times or victimize myself of culture.

Do you know how many full-blooded Amerindians there are in the country east of the Mississippi? It's not a lot. OTOH, NYC is 2/3 black/Hispanic/Asian
