Seriously, would everyone be so riled up if at 46 she was playing a 60 year old? Unlikely. Look at the cast of Pretty Little Liars. The one playing Spencer has been playing a High Schooler since she was 25.
Good for them both, and any woman not getting older roles just because they aren't 20 anymore!
