Hilariously bad, 'Bad Guy!'

The, "Uncle Trent," character in this movie had me in stitches! Not only can he just NOT act but his accent was all over the place. One second it was American, the next it was British.

Granted, he wasn't exactly given the best script to work with. I particularly liked it when he was handed Dolph's file, flicked through all three pages of it and screamed, "Decorated marine! Honourable discharge! Arrested for gun smuggling! Time in prison! The man's an out of control mercenary!" Yeah.... That would've been my first assumption too, buddy!

But, when he's not been handed corkers like that he can't even read regular lines properly! I swear down there's a moment in this film where he says about Dolph's ex-soldier, "But what if he goes A.O.L.?!" Hang on...., "A.O.L.???!!!" Well, mate, I'd be more concerned about him going, "A.W.O.L." but if you think we should be more concerned about him being a massively successful interent provider.....

That is James Chalke - his bio used to refer to him as Dolph's bodyguard, but that has now been removed to emphasise his focus on acting. He seems to get a run in most of Dolph's recent work - not sure if he's cheap labour or if he knows some dark secret about Dolph's personal life and is using that as leverage to get screen time.

I don't know how else to rationalise using him in more than an 'extra' capacity.
(Apart from the comedy we get out of his awful performances)

Yeah that first line was great. Had me lol'ing. It took wooden acting to a whole new level which is saying something in a movie that already had a cast and script like this, although I think Dolph did alright with what little he had to work with. But damn, I didn't hear the AOL line! Somebody please post at what point in the film he says this. Don't make me watch it all again just for this little gem! lol

It's at about 35 minutes in. Great stuff. As for the dossier scene, one of the best in the film, so funny. Talk about adding some character depth!

This scene was shot quickly with absolutely no direction from the director.

The best moment with him is when he said, "Listen like you've never listened before"(LOL). Then Dolph says in a very awkward tone, "Whattya gonna do??? Talk me to death?"

Then the hilarious line is when he says in a monotone emotionless voice, "Have it your way....", then shoots him!

I mean come on! You are KILLING SOMEONE! Have some enthusiasm!

He definitely said "AOL" not "AWOL." And that dossier scene was really bad. For one thing the first item was Dolph wearing a Navy uniform when he was supposed to be a Marine (yes the Marines are part of the Department of the Navy but they have totally different uniforms).

i like it when he gets shot and says "unbelievable" i was thinking yeah, it was for letting you anywhere near a film set lol.

Tarantino is a prat!! and so is bryan singer!!

Thanks for that. I swear...this movie was meant to kill someone...by suffocation from laughter and by shock and awe. (_: I am sure Uncle Trent would have been concerned about the A.O.L rather than A.W.O.L seeing that he declared Dolph, after very thorough research (all few seconds), "an out of control mercenary." Aye!
