Help with the timeline please

ok, so Sharpe arrived at the camp and found all the soldiers dead. The French fiance was there first, and he killed the soldiers. Then Sharpe's team left. Then The french dude goes back to camp with Draogmirov (why)? Then Dragomirov finds Sharpe's tream at the river and there is a small battle. Sharpe escapes. Then Sharpe alone goes back and finds the Frenchman alone (except for 2 guards). Why the Frenchman is no longer with Dragomirov apparently is just for plot convenience as this makes no sense. Then Drago captures Sharpe and brings him to the castle with the snakes. Sharpe escapes. Drago finds Sharpe at the canyon pass and Sharpe blows up the rocks. Sharpe escapes.
Anyway, most movies have one dramatic battle of good and evil at the end, but in this series, Sharpe and Drago confront each other aout 57 times during the movie, and Shapre kept running away. Sorry, but it became laughable after a while. I mean, really...in the heart of India, how often can two people just keep running into each other.
