they should have used the animators from A Monster in Paris (2011) , or go to 2D animation

I disagree, I rather enjoyed it. It was obviously CG but made to look like stop motion and it really gave it a wonderful charm and unique display.

That sort of animation would have seriously screwed with the story and setting IMO.
I think they went the right direction. Big risk given the Burton vibes, but it paid off from my vantage. Well done and matched made perfect sense.
I never thought that they should use animation from Monster in Paris or 2D animation. I just would've been fine if the Tim Burton-like style wasn't in there.
I hope that there is an Evangelion video game where you can beat Asuka up!
