Did anybody know you can bribe the police by using the telephone?

I didn't.

Yes. It's the only thing you can normally do with the phones aside from receive calls at your apartments. It seems like there was supposed to be more you could do with the phones but they never incorporated it.

It seems like there was supposed to be more you could do with the phones but they never incorporated it.

I read somewhere (IGN/gamespot? somewhere like that?) that the phones were scattered all over the map so that if Vito ended up wrecking whatever car he was driving he could call Joe to come drop off a car from the private garage (and that you'd get to pick from whatever cars you owned).

It seems like at the last minute they decided to not impliment this either to make the game more challenging or to prevent the player from switching cars during scenarios where you're meant to drive certain crapwagons which barely hit 30 at max speed, lol.

Personally I think it'd have been better if they'd set the phones up so you could call up Derek or Bruski and ask for missions, etc. There was alot of potential in this game that just wasn't used in my opinion.
