How about that uh... human animal?

I have wanted to ask this for a long time.
In the trailers there were 2 cutscenes that did not appear in the game.
In the very first trailer, there was a scene where Vito, Luca and Joe were sitting around a table. Luca is telling a story about a TV show he saw about a guy who had a thing against killing animals. Then Luca asks Vito what were his views of killing animals, human animals in particular.

In another trailer, titled "Christmas Pleasures" or something, there is a scene where Joe is attending a church ceremony with Vito and Vito's mother. Joe let's a little "Jesus Christ!" slip off his lips, which angers Vito's mom and other elderly ladies in the church.

Whatever happened to these cutscenes? Why were they left out from the game? Are they in some special edition?

They were probably intended for a DLC that was eventually never added in favour of starting work on another title. Obviously the Church scene would have happened very early in the game (either before Vito goes to the Army, or just after he gets out.

I felt quite a bit was omitted from the game but that usually happens for time and story telling purposes (not to drag a story out, etc).
