This movie is terrible

Everyone should stop getting excited for this film. I got a chance to see it at a test screening a few months ago and it may be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It's a complete mess. Obviously the film hasn't yet been released because nobody has any idea what to do with it. Nothing can save this disaster. You know those movies that have you waiting for the dialogue to be over so it can get to the action? Well, watching Bunraku is a lot like that except you're waiting for the action to be over too. I hated this film and I thought I'd share that with the world of IMDb. That is all. Thank you.

reply

That's disappointing... however, I tend to like a lot of movies other people didn't like. Like the Time Machine. I think I'm the only person around my area that liked that movie. Maybe others will like it. But thank you so much for sharing with us. That was nice of you.

reply

I think this movie is pretty good in a way, that is, the paper-puppet visual effects. That is new for me.

reply

lol, just watched it for the first time. It's so cheeseball. It was literally painful to watch. I actually have a headache now.

reply

It's great, it's a lot of movies in one, a western, samarai, buddy flick, martial arts all done in a stylized unique way. It's sounds like a contradiction but it is it's own thing. Even Demi Moore wasnt annoying!

reply

"I hated this film and I thought I'd share that with the world of IMDb"

And that is why you joined IMDb on June 28, 2010 just to 'share with us' your one single opinion! LOL...

reply

DarkTeeth, +1
agree to that. That sounds pretty strange to just come for the only reason.

ColHansLanda, that is (if it is) only your opinion. Let other people decide by themselves.

wow!!! you actually looked at the date he signed up on. i don't know what to say to that. kinda creepy and obsessive i guess.

reply

It's not creepy or obsessive. I just can't stand people saying "best movie ever" or "worst movie ever". It simply does not make any sense...

reply

I completely agree. People saying things like "the worst movie I've ever seen" seems kind of one sided and follow the trend of saying stuff like "I wasted 1,5 hour of my life I won't get back"...

reply

This doesn't even make any sense? It's not that hard to look when someone signed up it takes 1 easy click and the guy wanted to just see if he was some what credible? It really makes no sense you saying he is creepy but then again majority of your posts well it's obvious you're 4 cans short of a 6 pack.

reply

I just have to say this, but looking up the date someone joined IMDB isn't that creepy when it's right underneath your username.
Was seeing the date that someone joined not underneath the username in 2010?

Wow! I saw it too, and it's actually kind of good.

reply

How are people seeing it and where?

reply

There have been some test screenings in the L.A. area.

reply

This movie is all over the internet already... and yes it sucks

reply

"Everyone should stop getting excited for this film. I got a chance to see it at a test screening a few months ago and it may be one of the worst movies I have ever seen."

Just because you yourself didn't like the movie doesn't mean others will share that opinion. From what I have seen on other websites I have visited, Most of the excitement isn't because of the movie its self. Its WHO is in it! I myself can't wait for this movie to hit theaters just so I can drag family members and drool at the eye candy presented on screen. My suggestion to you is to stop telling people to stop doing something just because that 'something' is the worst thing in the world in your opinion.

reply

Of course you can have your own opinion. I'm not trying to rob that from anyone. I'm simply trying to lessen the blow from the inevitable disappointment. I just don't want to see you all get hurt. And yes, this movie effected me to the point where I had to join in order to post on here.

reply

"I just don't want to see you all get hurt" OMG! A christian! Amen.

"this movie effected me to the point where I had to join in order to post on here" Poor little thing. Does not how to tackle his/her emotions when he/she does not like a movie. Wow...

reply

I know I know. "What a troll for not liking this movie that I'm so blindly convinced will be good!" Who came up with that ridiculous terminology? I'll tell you: A troll. I predict a single-digit tomatometer score for this one.

reply

"I predict a single-digit tomatometer score" Unlike you, ColHansLanda The Troll, there is still a reasonable amount of people who can make a opinion by themselves and this includes not giving much credit to the holly movie critics' opinions.

reply

"Unlike you, ColHansLanda The Troll, there is still a reasonable amount of people who can make a opinion by themselves" Tell me, at what point have I suggested that my opinion was not of my own making? Furthermore, I have not personally attacked the opinions of anyone. The only one making personal attacks is you, my friend. This is all too amusing. Why are you getting so emotionally involved? Say what you will, but I'm just trying to prevent over-hyping. I have stated my opinion about this film. If you want to go see it then do so, but be sure not to express your opinion because people will call you a troll if you do.

reply

You still don't get it do you ?
I could not care less about the fact that you like or dislike a movie. You have the right to have your own opinion. The very simple fact that I pointed out is that noone (including you, me, MPAA, movie critics, the Church...) has the right to tell others what they should or should not do. You have no rights, absolutely no rights "trying to lessen the blow from the inevitable disappointment", "trying to prevent over-hyping". Everyone has the rights to do/experiment what they want. Oh and don't worry about me being label a troll by telling/advising others about what they should or should not watch, I don't do such "amusing" and Fascist things.

reply

Not once have I told people not to watch this film. Really... not once. You are making accusations for no reason. The point that I've been making is that you shouldn't get too excited because you might not like what you see. I'm sorry that you translated this to "I command that you don't see this movie because I'm a Fascist troll." You are changing the direction of this argument in your favor by spinning my words. I have done nothing except express my opinion. I'm sorry that you are so hurt.

reply

If your opinion is different from any imdb user, you are automatically qualified as a troll. Didn't you get the memo?

Now seriously, folks. All homeboy did was say he went to a test screening, did not like the film, and then proceeded to tell us why. How people read anything beyond this, I have no idea.

That said, I hope I don't find the movie that bad myself, since the cast looks pretty interesting. Woody Harrelson, Ron Pearlman and... GACKT! LOL!

reply

Thank you, android. Now I imagine posting "I loved this film. Everyone go see it now!!" Then somebody responds with "No troll tells me what to do!"

reply

I just really want to see it for myself. I hope it's out soon for the public to view!! LOL!

reply

Well it was supposed to have been released on VOD as of Sept 1 here in the US - I haven't seen it yet though on my VOD service.

reply

Oh, you poor little victim.
Grow up for goodness sake. If you're going t post obnoxious nonsense, prepare for a fair amount of push-back.
And kiddo, people will not "get hurt", even if they don't like the film.
Anyway your pathetic, whinging responses to all the meanies making your butt hurt suggest your tastes will likely differ from that of most adults, I'd say.

reply

"whinging" "butt hurt"? spoken like a true adult

reply

You are such a DOUCHE!

reply

"noone (including you, me, MPAA, movie critics, the Church...) has the right to tell others what they should or should not do."

Wrong. He has the right to express his opinion - he has the right to say almost anything he likes in any way he likes. Conversely, you have the right to ignore him or follow his advice as you see fit - I haven't seen the film and personally, have no idea if it's any good but based on this discussion, I'm far more inclined to accept the OPs comments than yours simply because he's clearly expressing an opinion in a rational way, not ranting at everyone about their rights...

reply

but he DIDN'T tell anyone what they should or should not do you nimrod. He offered his opinion so people could be forewarned. Big difference.

reply

Saw this a TIFF last night, I have to agree - it's pretty awful. Convoluted story, wooden dialogue, the action scenes lack any real imagination. That being said the sets were pretty cool, opening credits were amazing, and the pop-up book style art direction was novel. Unfortunately those little glimmers did little to save the film. After the screening the main actors got on stage to answer audience questions and I swear they were all pretty embarrassed. At one point Josh Hartnett asked the audience what they thought of the film (the actor's hadn't seen it yet) - being Canadian and polite we all clapped - to which he said "Thank God!". I've been going to TIFF Midnight Madness for a couple of years now and I've never seen so many people walk out of a movie.

reply

it was visually stunning and something unlike what is currently showing in theaters now which is why it is hard for people to really explain it

like Josh Harnett said it gave him chills when seeing it at tiff for the first time it gave me chills too
