Why trust those fuckin villagers?

Cynical, war-weary, experienced soldiers like those- on God's mission to destroy 'demons' and 'necromancers', suddenly agree to take drink from people they now know to be Godless and suspect of killing the previous unit of Bishop's men? I suspected it a mile off.

I'd have sought to camp separately, outside the village, and even pre-planned to take my squad's own food/water supplies?

It’s what Sean bean said. They needed guile to lure the necromancer out. As good Christians, they didn’t want to massacre a whole village of (possibly) innocent people. They know something bad was going on, but they didn’t know who was bad. They didn’t know everyone was bad yet.

Plus, they just went through a hard trek through marshes, so they were hungry.
