Why did they hang the dog's? It felt so random.

Okay. Thank you. I thought it was something like that but, I wasn't sure.

That's really the only part involving animals I didn't like. I understood the rest.

in the book, heath hangs up Isabella's dog, but it is rescued...I think by Nelly...

Hanging the dog was a way to show how cold and ruthless Heathcliff was. When the boy, Hareton hung the other dog, it was to show how Heathcliff was influencing and poisoning the people around him. Heathcliff was the only father figure Hareton had, and Heathcliff raised the kid to be cruel.
