Do you think we'll get the answers, ever?

I've always been hopeful but, how do you stay positive and wait after season 2, 3 and 4 gave us no answers. I guess The Listener:Toby Logan files reminded us all that there was in fact season one where a cliffhanger was left unsolved. But, again, they gave us no answers
1) where are Toby's mother and brother?
2) where is that institute where they were held?
3) and what about all those people who are looking for him, where are they? o.O
4) Where is Frank Cardia, Ray Mercer, who, basically raised Toby?

Since the previous seasons gave us nothing, do you really think this season is gonna be different? I mean, nothing is happening at the moment, they're just solving crimes, like always. :/ sigh

I highly doubt that they'll answer the several questions that they left up in the air with that first season cliffhanger...and it's frustrating as hell. I will hold some hope for this season since it's rumored that they are supposedly going into Toby's past, but what that actually looks like? Not certain.

So, just cross our fingers, I guess?

yeah, guess so...:)

I hate when they say a show is going in another direction.....I really do.....

susan

probably not, get the answers.......

The show is a procedural now, so we're never going to get those answers. The show used be about a psychic paramedic with a mysterious past dealing with his gift. Now it's just a cop show with a cop that can read minds. Procedural format means nothing can change. His powers don't change, his past is forgotten. Just a case every week where he has an advantage. The serial version rated so badly it was being looked at for cancellation (the massive delay between S1 and S2). Since it became a procedural it's had regular steady seasons. Go figure.

I get that they're just playing it safe. But don't they have a responsibility towards the fans? They can't say that season 1 never existed because it did. Face with that. And why bring Brian Becker and say how this season is gonna delve into his past(also Tia investigating his past...soon, I hope :D) They wrote that, for the fifth season. So won't you go figure :P. I mean, fans are pressuring them, they can't escape from season 1. Also, cap shows like Bones and Castle also tell something about the main characters, their parents, their lives, from occasionally. I am still hoping. Hope it's not for nothing. But the first season was definitely the best. Everyone will tell you that. Now, I mostly skip some parts of the episode(s) caz it bores me. And how come you don't want any answers o.O :D ?

Wouldn't the fans be the ones that showed up in numbers great enough to keep the show on the air? Which is to say those that came along after these elements were discarded. Just saying.

- I'm not sure if I should.
- Then you're not sure if you shouldn't.

Maybe they introduce sth as a major arc or sth like that. Why else write this as a part of the summary: And Toby's investigative journalist girlfriend, Tia Tremblay will begin to delve into the secrets of Toby's past, eventually exposing truths which might threaten to turn his world upside down.

Oh, I want answers. I much preferred the 1st season. RIP Detective Marks.

Which fans do they answer to though? The first season fans that were so small that the show almost got cancelled or season 2-4 fans that don't know anything about the great first season but were strong enough to get the show renewed for 3 years?

Hopefully they will do as they promised and return to the 1st season's developments, but I won't hold my breath. In my experience, when writers do go back to these things due to fan pressure, it's just to kill-off those threads permanently because they've gotten tired of hearing about it. ;)

well, let's hope that's not (totally) the case then :D. Just give us something, don't ignore the 1st season please...sigh :D

I thought that this would be the season for answers..didn't they say it would be?
And yet still nothing..
I have a bad feeling they're going to leave us hanging until the last two episodes and then throw some info our way about Toby's past.
That would just be mean..

The show has veered sharply from Season 1/2 from Toby's search for himself to crime formula. And even Toby's powers have resolved from life-threatening usage every time he uses them to just glimpsing memory flashbacks from witnesses.

I have more or less stopped watching the show. The back story of Lauren Lee Smith's character in Season 3/4 was showing some promise but it eventually fizzled into nothing.

This show needs a revamp to take it out of the rut it has dug itself into. The change of characters in Season 2 was a start, but now it is getting complacent again.

Agreed, though they gave us a little hand out in last night's episode regarding Toby's past.
Next week's episode looks pretty good too..though they waited long enough stringing us a long all season with promises they're now just giving us..
They do need to liven things up on the show to keep viewers watching that's for sure!
