This film had average direction, at best. Compare this to the master direction of James Cameron in Avatar: The Way of Water. Cameron’s directing went to new heights, while the direction here was as average as they come.

The film overall was just a snoozefest and will be forgotten soon.

This is one of the reasons the Academy is losing so many viewers.

1 oscars are total shit
2 directors do more than what you seem to imply. This film had great direction.

I refuse to even see Avatar 2. I didn't like the original. It's a shame after all the great movies he did in the 80s and 90s he'd end up doing mediocre ones now. I haven't seen this movie though. And I probably never will. Prefer older dramas.

This movie is for grownups. "Avatar: blah blah blah" is a silly CGI comic book fantasy.
