One huge distraction for me was...

Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She was so astoundingly beautiful, that I could barely pay attention to what was going on in the movie. lol

But on a serious note, the overall film...ehhh. I don't think I'll be watching it again anytime soon. I mean, don't get me wrong, John Goodman's performance was great. There were some memorable moments. But still, the movie just didn't do much for me.

And by the way, such a slick marketing tactic on the production's part of associating the title with "Cloverfield". This film had absolutely nothing to do with Cloverfield. But I'm sure the title sucked a lot of people into watching this movie.
