friends rip-off?

i just saw a promo on abc family for this and i thought it looked a lot like the tv show friends. (a bunch of friends living together).

thoughts?

IMO, this is more of a rip-off of "How I Met Your Mother," sans the overarching plot point that keeps the show on focus for the most part. Let's look at the character comparisons. I apologize, but I'm not going to use their names because I have no idea what they are:

Mother.........................Roommates

Barney Short blond-haired dude
The typical sex-crazed hot guy

Marshall Goofy-looking brown-haired guy
Your average goofball character

Lily Tia/Tamara/whoever Mowry
The quirky cute girl with deeper character traits

Robin The other girl
The beautiful gal that our protagonist has a thing for

which brings us to...

Ted Final guy with the moppy hair and endearing smile
Hopeless romantics who take on the world on their terms

Frankly, from the promos I've seen of the show, it does seem to be "Friends" for a new generation.

First thing I thought when I saw the promo was How I Met Your Mother. Not Friends.

Am I the only one who thinks of What I Like About You when I see the promo?
Although I do see similarities with Friends and How I Met Your Mother as well.

I jsust watched the series premiere. I didnt laugh 1x. The show was very boring.

Tamera if you're reading: I gave ur show a try Tamers but Im not @ all interested.

The show was horrible. I can see potential with James' and Hope's character. IMHO, I thought the other characters were just too dumb.

The first episode of Friends sucked. Personally, for a first episode I thought this show was better. You can't compare a show that has been on once to Friends that was on 10 seasons. Compare apples for apples which is the first episodes. Trying to watch the first Friends is brutal.

Exactly what I thought. Only difference is, friends is actually funny.
