Do you think that they should reboot this series?

I don't think so. I don't see what it would achieve.

Doing some sort of remake of them seems redundant as the originals are still serviceable films.

Doing something new with them could surely be done by making either another sequel, or a completely new film/franchise rather than rebooting this one.
