What did they spend the $15K on?
If they used no crew, and it was recorded digitally, shouldn't it have cost like a few hundred bucks?

The actors and crew need paying which I'm guessing will have cost a few grand. Then there's equipment, like editing equipment, special effects equipment etc, maybe a few more grand. It soon adds up.
shareI would say that they spent a good bit on some of the special effects. I know that they are minimal at best, but they do cost. The one scene where Katie is drug out of the bed was probably done digitally. That takes time, skill, and money. Then there's the scene where the ouija board catches on fire. Simple, but it had to be done by somebody and that somebody had to get paid. The sound and editing was very important in this film as well. That takes somebody who knows what they are doing and those people come at a price. There is the matter of being able to show the film in theaters. There was probably some work done to the film to get it to where it could be shown in digital theaters. Then there is the advertising. It costs a LOT of money to advertise for a film. Before too long you are spending millions on a movie.
shareOkay, but that's obviously way more than $15K. I accept the earlier part of your answer though.

GuyOnTheLeft: When I answered your post I misread it. I thought you were talking about $15 million. Your right. $15 THOUSAND is low balling it big time. You spend that on a publicity campaign and that's on the low end.
shareAh, gotcha.
