Here's what didn't make sense...

1.) After experiencing nights of super creepy paranormal activity, Katie and Micah continued to sleep in their bedroom, with all the lights off, and not even a TV on in their bedroom. If I was in that situation, I would've turned on every single light in the house, turned on the TV, and maybe even put on some music in the background. Anything to distract me from the demonic entity. How could someone be terrorized by a demon in the middle of the night, and then feel comfortable enough to sleep back up in that bedroom again? I mean, what did they expect? Of course the demon is gonna appear again.

2.) The demonologist was useless. He didn't provide any useful information or tips. In fact, I'd say he made the situation a bit worse. And plus, that cracked me up when he returned to the house, and was basically like, "Whoa, I can't be here. I gotta go." I mean, dude...you're a demonologist. That's your job. That's what you do. Why bother even returning in the first place??

3.) That house was obviously a super creepy place to be. And yes, I know...the demon would follow Katie. But they could've at least stayed the night in a hotel, drive around at night, slept in their car even...anything to avoid sleeping in that house. In fact, returning to that house was just a bad idea to begin with.

I tend to agree about the lights. But other than a plot device, I think it started as a more of a 'determination' to keep things the same. They knew it wouldn't do any good to move to another room, they had already tried that when they felt the demon's presence but it followed them.

Dr. Friedrichs wasn't a demonologist. He was a psychic. He mentions this at the start of the film, that dealing with demons was not part of his job. He wasn't trained for it.
He only dealt with ghosts. He DID however give them the name of a demonologist, but Micah talked her out of calling him.

While I would have tried to leave just to see if the psychic was correct or not (why couldn't he be mistaken, right!) but IF HE WAS CORRECT, it wouldn't have helped one bit. The demon had already followed Katie from childhood, it wasn't going to help to sleep in a hotel or car. (I would have tried a church, why not?)

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.

Fully agreed with number 3. Just once Id like to see a paranormal movie that takes place in a small 1 bedroom apartment in a complex with tons of people living around you. Seems like everyone of em goes for the gorgeous 3 bedroom house in a nice gated community.

Something tells me a demon wouldn't follow a person to a small apartment, or hotel like you said.

Thats one thing I've never understood about these movies, these demons never attack outside the house. Never at a persons job, school, errands, personal activities etc etc.

Guess Im looking too much into it but once Katie got home in the beginning it seemed like she never went back out other than the ouija board scene.

I know if I had a demon after me, Id spend as much time out of the house as possible.

In the authorized 'ripoff' of the film, called Paranormal Entity, the family DOES try to leave the house.
They go to a hotel, and the demon does indeed follow them!

Also, in the supposed~true demonic stories told in the films The Haunted and The Entity, the demon follows the targets out of the house there also.

But that said, I STILL would have taken a chance! I would have tried a church at least!
