Moving too fast

They have already saved the girls, caught the dirty cop, and now know the truck driver’s identity and got him cornered. The show is running out of options to continue the investigation storyline, but I’m still intrigued to see where it goes. Perhaps they can introduce a new killer/kidnapper or add a new plot-twisting element that opens the possibility for the show to move in new directions.

Agreed, but they may as well. I don't think this show is destined for a second season anyway. And even if it somehow was, it'd be horrible and feel tacked-on and probably lose half the cast and be about another occurrence, lame. So really just hoping the one season anyway. It's clearly filler while the network figures out something else imo. After all they're still showing RP in promo images, seems a lil desperate. Don't get me wrong I'm entertained and will keep watching, it's compelling. But I think Grace's escape attempt will remain the highlight and again it seems to be a one-season show, that will undoubtedly get "shopped elsewhere"

They may be able to do something long-term with the bad cop’s mental complications from the gun shot. Maybe it’s revealed that he actually is partially faking his amnesia and will use it to get out of going to jail and potentially commit more crimes and try to eliminate the black cop.

I guess I’m too used to shows like Twin Peaks and Breaking Bad where the evildoers are able to allude getting caught for multiple seasons.

The show even got 6 additional episodes

I’m interested to see how they will stretch out the story or what plot elements they will add to justify the 6 addition episodes.

Now it looks like they are going for a totally new mystery in future episodes with the hunt for Ronald still ongoing. It's too bad they killed off John Carroll Lynch's character. He was the best of the show!
