LOL That is the sexiest man on planet earth right there. Although I have to say, Tom Hardy is looking pretty sexy these days. JRM better come out of hiding soon.

JRM did a really good job in this to me. So did JM. The script and story was weak but I could feel the intensity throughout. I was impressed with him in this.

reply

He was good. He elevated the movie, which was not strong. It did start pretty well, though. I just thought it was like two different movies.
Julianne Moore was fine. She did her job but didn't impress me as she often does. Again, it was most likely the material.

JRM was pretty much the only reason I decided to watch this film. After completely and utterly falling in love with him waaaaay back in 2000 when I saw him in Gormenghast, I have since watched anything that he's been in because a) he's made of smex and b) the kid can act. Back in the day when he was all skinny with long hair and cocking his eyebrow as his Steerpike completely stole the show from the ensemble cast of Gormenghast (Christopher Lee, Cecila Imree, Eric Sykes, Stephen Fry, Steven Pemberton, June Brown... amongst others) I knew that JRM would be going places.

I was completely blown away by his accents in this film, the physical ticks, everything he was just excellent.

JRM was absolutely great, I hope he does more intense and complex characters.

It's funny how this started as a thread complimenting his acting, and ended with all the girls admitting they're horny for him

But, don't let me put a dampener on it; he's a very good actor and he's not bad to look at. I always liked his eyes. He's one of the few people who make me un-ashamed to be Irish.

reply

LOL So true. We can't help it. He's just that sexy.

This film had two of my favourite stars in it, I really like Julianne Moore and have been a JRM fan since Velvet Goldmine (and discovered Christian Bale in that one too). I thought he did pretty well in this. Nothing wrong in being Irish (the contributor prior to Eggbertsmith) and some of the men are the sexiest in the world :)). He is a great actor and I really hope we see him back on our screens very soon. I couldn't get into Gormenghast so gave up on it.

The accents were quite impressive!!! JRM really had distinct mannerisms fo,r all of the souls his character..the reverend had sheltered.

He did a pretty good job.

jrm is always amazing, he´s one of the best of his generation. i just wished he would be given more opurtunities to show his talent.

reply

I agree. He's amazing. Especially given that he has had no formal training. He's just an instinctual actor, and much better than many with much more experience, and much more training. He's certainly attractive, but his natural talent is incredible.

Want to see much more from this interesting actor.

reply

Both JRM and JM were amazing, even though the script was rather weak they both gave captivating performances.
