I thought it was decent though not very scary

Let's be honest all of the Nightmare films after the first two were more comedy than horror with Freddy cracking one liners. Even the first one hasn't aged particularly well.

This remake was darker but still respected the originals and didn't have too many jump scares. Jackie Earle Haley was a good choice for Freddy and the other characters did a decent job of being believable if somewhat cliched (which was at least similar to the original). I think people watch this with the nostalgia goggles on and don't realise that this is a decent attempt at the very least
