Has Micheal Bay killed Freddy forever?

Good question. I suppose it's up for debate. I mean, this lackluster remake certainly doesn't help the future of the franchise. Another complicating factor is that, unlike various actors/stuntmen playing Jason, Michael, or Leatherface, it's hard to imagine anyone successfully filling Robert Englung's fedora. Going forward, I think that might be the biggest obstacle another remake/reboot would face.

I heard that they were going to make "Freddy VS Jason 2" with Robert Englund. But I've been hearing that for a couple years.. I would love to see another one!
