no ... it was not even steaming, it was cold juvenile exaggerations of every bad taste and offensive idea one could stick in this kind of movie.
i saw this with an asian friend of mine and i was actually embarassed and the blantant racism and murders, constant shootings and clubbing and whatever else.
this kind of movie is for mentally ill sub-human psychopathic morons.
That's two movies this year I have had to walk out of.
Anyone associated with this movie should be fined, flogged and put in jail for psychological observation.
Luckily, when I saw this crap, the theater was nearly empty. If there had been Asian or Pakistani people in the room, I would have wanted to sink through the floor...
Wow! Just wow! I guess theres no room for a simple fun violent action romp...Its the equivalent of buying a Big Mac & then expecting it to taste like filet mignon...Did you numbnuts not see the trailer for this film cause it pretty much let you know what type of film this was going to be...The only mentally ill sub-human psychopathic morons I see are the fools complaining in this thread...lol
No there really isnt room for this kind of crap, in fact it's this kind of *beep* that's killing cinema. There are 'fun action romps' out there which do retain elements of decency i.e City of God, Pulp Fiction etc etc This is just a badly made, juvenile, terribly scripted piece of wank. There are Big Macs and there's eating a $hit filled nappy out of a trash can, this, I'm afraid, is the latter. This film really needs to flop, and I hope it ends up costing the studio so much that they never even think of creating this kind of *beep* again.
person above- are you saying you don't agree that the more awful films are made, the lower the bar is set for future films? don't you think as america, whose biggest exports are movies and weapons, should have a higher standard?
we're churning out movies as though the resources to make them grow on trees while thousands of insightful films are rejected. to see THIS making millions... as someone who actually sees the impact films have on the world... it's embarassing.
think about it- movies are our biggest export. we're creating an image and marketing it to the world. is this what we want people to think we consider cinema?
sure, tell me i'm overthinking it or "it's just a movie." but statements like that are far more ignorant than you think, or could even comprehend. a bad movie isn't always just a bad movie. it doesn't just disappear as though it never existed.

No, of course not and to think so is foolish. First of all, it's not awful just dumb, silly and over the top; and second, lots and lots of similar films have always been made and we still have our Memento'a, Fight Club's, There Will Be Blood's, etc.

Provide some evidence or stop talking out of your ass. Which scripts have been dumped because of this film?

When people think American cinema they think Cameron, Spielberg, Scorsese, Coens and new directors like Nolan and Fincher, not some mediocre budget generic action flick that isn't even American.

No, you are not overthinking you are overreacting. There is a place for all kinds of films regardless of whether you and those two self-important belligerent dullards above think they are "bad" or not.
But I don't WANNA learn! I wanna go out and SMASH THINGS with HAMMERS! reply share
