very fun movie. Luc Besson is the man. I hope this will get a sequel, but I doubt it. if a sequel is in the cards, does anyone has any news regarding it?

I think that there will be one sequel at least... I read all the Adèle comics and there are alots of adventures. Well... I think the film didn't make justice to the comics which are very funny.

shareI mentioned on another thread that I had been at a Q&A session with Luc Besson answering questions after the London preview showing. He was asked, of course, about a sequel, and answered that there would be a sequel "if audiences like the film enough". So we all said, we like it!

shareI always find it odd the way people express themselves. Why would you hope that there won't be a sequel? If you didn't like this movie enough then don't bother watching the sequel. Why would you want to deprive others who have stated their enjoyment of the movie from enjoying a sequel? Is it to punish them for liking a film you don't? Is a sequel going to harm someone? A bit of a selfish statement. If you had said that you didn't think it deserved a sequel then that would be you just stating your opinion which any fair minded person would acknowledge as your right.
I hope their is a sequel. I think it was well acted and very much in-line with what I would expect in this type of film. Luc Besson has made better films but this one was fun.

shareI'm French actually, and I'm familiar with the original comics too. This movie is shockingly bad on so many different levels, it is just another low in Luc Besson's downward spiral that started after Leon. Now we are 2 years after the original Release of Adele Blanc Sec and a sequel has not started production yet, and that's not a surprise.

You can always dream of a sequel, but that is something that never will happen. It far from earned the money back home, because it did not do well in France, one reason my most of Europe chose to give it a DVD and Blu-ray release instead.
Its a good movie, its just sad that the french did not appreciate it that much, but i guess perhaps its because they are not to big fans of the comic books either.
