Grizzly Bears Don't Live In The Appalachian Mountains

Only Black Bears do. There's a huge difference.

Adult Black Bears weigh around 200-400 pounds and are generally afraid of humans. They can climb trees too.

Adult Grizzly Bears weigh around 400-700 pounds and are far more aggressive.

I'm going to go with the theory that the bears in the trailer are part of a nightmare or imagined threat.

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

And Bill Bryson makes that fact explicit in his book. Then again, Bryson and Katz were in their forties when they hiked too. Oh, Hollywood!

They're not even on the east coast at all. The only place grizzlies show up in the lower 48 states is in parts of Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Wyoming.
