How was Nolte?

I still think he is a great actor. How was he in this?

Nolte was GREAT - good character; good lines: and awesome timing and delivery. He more than made up for a surprisingly wooden Redford.

With all due coming to him - I feel it is worthy of an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actor.

He is cast against ("48 Hours") type; he is at times incredibly funny, sympathetic, uncouth, demanding, irritating, caring and a sad sack.

He is also very layered in his character development. You get to know Katz slowly and in that time, you get to see a different person than the one at first glance. I REALLY like him (Nolte) and, with the acknowledgement I haven't seen all of his recent films, this is a game changer for him.

He was mostly comic relief. There were a few scenes with him that were really touching though. One which related to his drinking, where you really got to see a deeper side to the struggles of the character. I enjoyed him in that one scene more than any other. Also, since he's struggled with alcohol in real life, it made me wonder how much of what his character was saying rang true for him.

They're, their, there. They're different. Trust me on this.

If the film performs decently in the US box office I think Nolte will get a Best supporting Oscar nomination.

My favorite Nolte performance is in U-Turn with Sean Penn. Are the characters similar?
