Ending not nice (spoiler obviously)

He had gotten all those postcards from nolte. The last one asks what's next, and he snubs him again! He could have at least invited the guy over or something. He was mean to him the entire movie, when it wasn't easy for the poor guy to do all this. I thought noltes character was trying so hard to be a good friend the entire movie, while Redford was just a selfish rich guy using him.
Irritated me that he couldn't acknowledge the friendship in the end.
Rich guys are selfish.
