Wouldn't Frederick know about Amy's *spoiler*...

Because Frederick Dorrit was friends with Arthur Clennam's dad and owned the boarding house, don't you think he would know about Amy's association with the Clennams?

I'm going on a perfectly innocent ride with my kids, whom I love. Is that clock correct?

No, because Arthur's real mother and Arthur's grandfather both wrote their letters and died after the boarding house closed (several years after), and it is presumed that Frederick Dorrit had no contact with Mr. Clennam after that. So, Frederick would have no clue as to the fact that his niece was heir to Gilbert Clennam's fortune.
