This show reminds me of Spongebob Squarepants
I couldn't help but realize it reminded me of Spongebob Squarepants. Am I alone on this ?

It does remind me of Spongebob, with a bit of Courage the Cowardly Dog. (I don't know what makes me think of Courage, but that's what I think when I watch it.)

This show doesn't remind me of Spongebob at all. Spongebob is stupid/witty funny. Misadventures of Flapjack is more dark/random funny. Both shows tickle me, but in completely different ways.

Came here to say they're pretty identical also. Main character in both shows is pretty similar...young, squeaky voice, big eyes, buck teeth, lives in water, has aquatic friends, does the realistic zoom-ins to gross you out, etc...
And the way flapjack acts reminds me of spongebob also, although FJ is a little bit darker (although not as much as others seem to claim, everyone should remember ren and stimpy were doing even darker things years and years before spongebob/flapjack)

Yeah, this show (or anything on TV now) is not dark/gross like Ren and Stimpy. They definitely ruled.

I thought it was a spongebob copy until I saw a few more episodes. Bob is wacky, and childish and a young-ish adult character who generally creeps out everybody in town. They constantly point him out as a wimp and the "adult characters" typically are annoyed by his behavior, even though they take care of him.
Jack is a kid. A wacky and childish kid. But he gets away with it to a degree. The two main adult characters find his behavior endearing... for the most part.
Definitely! I think the facial expressions are similar! I said this once while watching flapjack with my boyfriend. He highly disagrees but I think they are very similar.
shareIt reminds me more of Invader Zim and Courage the Cowardly Dog than it does Spongebob Squarepants. When I try to explain what it's like to my friends I tend to describe it as 'Invader Zim with pirates'.
