Anyone going to be watching UFO Hunters in about 20 mins?

Just curious. I wouldn't mind a little discussion while the episode is on. I'm always curious to hear other people's take on this subject.

reply

I always forget when this show in on and I miss it every time lol! But I would have loved to have had a discussion about the topic.

reply

I know here in the Mountain time zone is comes on Wednesdays at 11 pm. I think it's a few hours earlier on the East Coast, though.

I would like to start arranging weekly discussions while the show is on. We could talk about all things paranormal. The time differences would make it difficult though.

reply

Pacific time zone here. But yeah I can see where the time zone thing could be a bit of a problem during the show though lol. So how deep are you into the subject?

reply

If you're Pacific, then it probably comes on at the same time for us. It's probably something like 11MT/10PT.

How involved am I with the subject? Hmm. . . That's a good question. It's definitely something I'm interested in and something I've been interested in for a while. I've read a decent bit on the subject (you should check out ufoevidence.org) and I've become familiar with a lot of the prominent figures in UFOlogy through Coast to Coast AM.

The only reason I don't get MORE involved is simply because I am too skeptical about the possibilities of it going anywhere. If aliens ARE here then it's obvious they don't want us to know about it and I can only assume that since they are so far ahead technologically then they can stay hidden for as long as they want. And if they AREN'T here then it's all a waste of time; it's not like we can go to them. And this is discouraging to me.

On the other hand, there is considerable evidence to suggest that maybe--just maybe--something is going on behind the scenes and we really are being visited.

How about you? What are your thoughts on the subject?

reply

I do personally believe that they may possibly be here and that we at least are being visited. I've always been interested in the subject growing up, but I never really got that "into" it until the past couple of years. I understand what you mean when you say it can be kind of discouraging to think that it could all be possibly a waste of time to try and prove their existence and such. I guess that's why mostly growing up I was always interested and I believed, but never so much to the fact that I would really get into the subject deeply. For some strange reason the interest in the subject has gotten so much stronger since I've moved here to California. I have seen things in the night sky here that really make me stop and think...lol. I've also just recently started reading books on this also. You have a favorite? It's funny that you say you listen to Coast To Coast AM, as I have just recently started listening to it last week. Now I can't stop, I'm addicted lol. You mentioned something about that aliens or whatever they might be, obviously don't want us to know about it/them. I used to think that myself, but now I'm starting to think otherwise. I think it could be more of maybe sometimes "they" don't want us to for certain reasons unknown, but I have strong belief that they do want us to know in a very strong way also...Ok thoughts? lol

Interestingly enough, I started watching Coast to Coast in 2003 while I was delivering pizzas for Dominos. As I'm sure you can imagine, you get a lot of radio time in with a job like that. I just sort of stumbled upon it and became totally hooked. I am now a Streamlink member and can download and listen to any episode from the last 90 days. If you are not already a Streamlink member, I would suggest you become one.

As for books, it's hard to say. Honestly, I don't own any on the subject mostly because I never know who to trust. There is so much misinformation, disinformation and lies when it comes to ALL paranormal subjects that anyone who looks into it for any length of time will become jaded.

These may interest you, though. They are all books I learned about through Coast to Coast:

As far as aliens WANTING us to know that they're here. . . Hmm. . . I can only say that I assume that if they wanted us to know then we would know. After all, if they have technology that can get them here, surely they have technology to let us know they're here regardless of what our governments may or may not want.

I totally get what your saying on the wanting us to know thing. I guess that's a debate that really could go on forever since really no one can really prove one way or the other. But I can say I don't disagree with you wholeheartedly. I often have conflict with that aspect of wanting us to know. I'm just thinking that maybe there is much more into it that of course we don't know. I'm currently reading 'UFOS AND THE NATIONAL SECURITY STATE' by Richard Dolan. It's a very interesting book so far. The book you mentioned, 'CAPTURED: THE BETTY & BARNEY HILL EXPERIENCE' is going to be my next read. I know what you mean about not knowing which ones to read due to the fact that some authors are really just blowing hot air when it comes to the subject. That's really mainly why I have a little more trust in names of people I already know to be and have great knowledge in the field. Some books (I'm sure more than not) are just too tabloidish and are just trying to make a fast buck. I'm not a member of Streamlink yet, but I'm going to be lol. If you're interested in listening to podcasts, there is really good one that you can get from iTunes for free called 'Paracast' if you like Coast to Coast like I do, I'm sure you will like this one too. I'm picky about what I like lol. Do you know much on the Disclosure Project?

reply

I'll have to check out the Paracast. Sounds interesting.

Coast to Coast has had . . . who is it? Stephen Greer? . . . on the show talking about the Disclosure Project but I will admit that I can't remember too much in the way of details.

Again, I think the subject is very interesting, but I want it to materialize into something. We need some tangible evidence!

Did you ever hear of the Sirius Mystery? How about the ideas of guys like Erik Von Daniken (sp?) or Zacharian Sitchin? They have some interesting ideas when it comes to the "alien astronaut" theory.

reply

Hmm...no I haven't heard of it. I agree with you though. I want it to materialize too! That's what frustrates me so much! lol
Give me more details on that Sirius subject, sounds interesting...

reply

The Sirius Mystery is a pretty interesting subject. I first learned about it when Coast to Coast had a guest on who had written a book on the subject.

Go here to read some articles about it:

Then come back and let me know what you think.

reply

Interesting stuff. I had never heard of it. Does Coast to Coast still have an audio of it?

reply

I'm sure they still have the recording somewhere in their archives but it's much too old to get from Streamlink (unless they ever have it on as one of their 'classic shows.')

I heard it sometime in early 2006.

reply

Maybe someone will have the audio up on YouTube or something. I'll look for it. And hey, remind me on Wed to watch the show lol. I don't want to miss the next one. =)

reply

Did you remember to watch it? I actually got wrapped up in the season premiere of The Ultimate Fighter and totally forgot about UFO Hunters.

But there's always next week!

reply

No. I went to see a movie last night, so I miss it ONCE AGAIN lol.
