From what I gather I can only come up with two conclusions, either you haven't seen the movie & simply bashing it or secondly you perceived it to be something else from what it actually was. The latter sounds highly unlikely.

It's pure comedy mixed with action.

only someone related to the movie or the producer can praise it.i went into theatre with the hope of getting entertained.

Haven't seen it yet but everyone I've spoken to said it was hilarious. It's silly to say that only someone "related" to the movie would praise it - people do have varied tastes you know.

really?then see the movie yourself, and tell me what was funny in it

Hi Simpleguy

I saw this movie yesterday and I should say that I enjoyed it... its intended to be a spoof and it is...

Yes its melodrama and its different from the normal cinema..its lot better than the terrible bollywood stuff these days.. If you cant find anything funny tats not the movie's problem always..

in order to really enjoy this film there are few things that are needed
1)A good knowledge of the South Indian Cinema from the 60-70's esp the stereotypes in that genre eg :Mother in Peril, over the top sidekicks,Villans den,
Locket etc
2)Spaghetti Westerns
3)Capitalism
4)Indian Mythology
5)Bollywood films from 70's (esp the one directed by Firoj Khan).

Its a remarkably intelligent satire,Whats really really good about this film is the fact that it doesn't adheres to silly slapstick or toilet Humor to make you laugh.

The second thing that is really good about this film is, it never becomes a spoof -which people wrongfully understand this to be- and it never mocks at other films, instead it pays them a homage.

This has a color pallet and a treatment of a motion comic, and i think it really works.

the only problem is it knows its crowd too well and that's why sophomores may not get it.. like they did not get Irreversable (sad)..to each its own..but then the fact that few people did not really understand intelligent humor this film is laced with, doesnot makes this a bad film.

arent we glad that there are directors in these times who are NOT making film for mass Audience..instead they are making it for themselves, the only way that a cinema could evolve is only when film makes takes away the audience from the equation. Now i am not saying that this film is ground breaking or anything..but it comes across as a labor of love which i appreciate,Again, its a matter of audience finding its cinema and not the Cinema finding its audience. The audience will always be divided as far as these sort of films are concerned, but then thats the point isnt it..
