sims 3 was good. The Sims 4 looks Epic.

People online keep saying 'look what the sims 4 doesn't have'? Toddlers and Pools just won't be in the base game. That doesn't mean they won't be updated at a later time. There's more that is being added than is being taken away. But in those posts nobody ever brings up The building tools for houses and families, not to mention smarter sims. I watched a gameplay video and it looked truly amazing. How you can take something from the sims community while in the game and just add it to the household your in simple and easy. Not to mention, the sims look alot better. Granted, you had animation with the sims 3 but the animation never looked right and all of the sims looked like they came from the same family. the new one the sims all look unique and different. There's supposed to be more content in this base game than any other base game.

Either people need to just admit that they won't buy it and drop the complaining about it..Or decided to give it a chance before saying it's gonna suck.

I'd like to see all of the people that are complaining go back to the beginning when you just had The sims. The plain, ordinary first game. You didn't have as many perks and objects and you had there were no cheats. People have gotten really spoiled by some of the advancements that everytime there's a new base game everyone expects to get the same stuff they got in the old game. This is a new game. A new engine entirely and in the excitement of making it some things aren't as important. I don't know how many times people complained in the sims 3 that the rabbit holes were crap. That the sims should be able to walk into all of the buildings. Toddlers will probably have their own expansion back eventually. Their might be an expansion back called The Sims 4: Summer Fun where pools are introduced. The base game always starts out with acouple of simple concepts. You lose things. Think of how much you lost going from sims 2 to sims 3. I even think there were alot of interesting things in the sims 1 that you missed out on when you went to 2. This comes with the territory. But I really think people should actually try the game before judging it. You can't have an opinion on game play until you've experienced it.

I'm very excited for The Sims 4 despite not enjoying The Sims 3 as much as 2. The gameplay I have seen does look super. It will be a bit odd lacking some of the features, I think mobile phones play a large role in the game replacing some of the features of PCs and newspapers, that'll take a bit of getting used to.

I got excited for The Sims 3 and ended up a bit disappointed when I actually had it but I wont knock 4 until I play it myself.

I want more in each game - not less. I haven't bought any expansions since Sims 2 and won't start now.

The game is missing about 89 items - not just toddlers and pools. Everyone plays the game differently and I enjoyed the creative sandbox feel of it so I won't be buying this one. I'll stick to Sims 3 and maybe Sims 2 and hope Sims 5 is a vast improvement.

I really believe they're going to lose sales because they don't seem to understand their customer base.

I agree with Keelai. The point of sequels is to expand on the previous games and improve them, not take things out so there's less content.

From what I've seen of The Sims 4 so far I'm not impressed. To me it just looks like a cross between Sims 3 and Sims 2 but with less content. It's not just toddlers and pools that have been taken out that were in previous base games, there's loads of other things, too many things IMO. What has been added to The Sims 4 simply isn't enough to redeem all the features that haven't been added for me. Of course EA will add toddlers and pools later, there's no question about that but they should be in the base game - they are basic things after all. Even the first Sims had pools in the base game.

Also there's no story progression and loading screens have made a comeback. There's no open world. Some people will like that as I know there are some people who hated those things in The Sims 3 however personally I really like the open world and the story progression (I like it even more now I have Twallan's story progression mod installed so I can control which households can do what while I'm not playing them, including aging, moving away, etc. But I still liked the story progression element before that). So if someone is happy with that aspect and doesn't want to change it then it makes sense not to buy The Sims 4 and stick with The Sims 3.

Plus there's so many things that I haven't tried on The Sims 3 yet that I want to try before moving on to something else. I haven't even bought the last three expansion packs yet but I will soon.

So I'll be sticking with The Sims 3.

I have really no clues about anything happening in The Sims 4... I've been on and off again with The Sims 3 and that's it. But how do you not include TODDLERS? The kid just pops from baby to child? What, we're going back to The Sims 1 now?
And I don't know if I could ever go back to loading screens... I remember trying to go back and enjoy The Sims 2 after playing The Sims 3... it was such a good game that I experienced many hours of enjoyment from, but after experiencing the open world of TS3, I could not enjoy it as much.

My perfect Sims game would be a mix of 2 and 3... no rabbit holes, open worlds, I also really loved the cinematics of age transition, first kiss, wedding, ect that TS2 had... although I know they're heavy on the system, it would have been nice for TS3 to have something like fanfare for all your "firsts" instead of some little note in the corner saying you remember it.

The main thing that needs to be remembered here is that The Sims games have always had lots of updates and had a lot of things added. So I have no reason to believe that TS4 will be any different.

The difference was I loved the base games for 2 and 3. But the only thing 4 has going for it is "Emotions," which I don't think is any great thing.

I hadn't played SIms 4 yet when I made my previous post. I have now, and Sims 2 and 3 were a lot better.

I still have no doubt it will be updated like crazy.
