The film's plot revolves around a film maker that remakes (but in the movie it doesnt exsist until now) the first Beethoven.
Its not a remake.
The basic storyline, although weak, is that a dog owned by movie animal trainer (Silverman) ends up being cast in a movie. The "characters" in the movie being shot and the scenes they are shooting represent the first Beethoven movie. It would be better if it were Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt, but the scenes are the same. Of couse, the script writer takes things that happen to Silverman in "real life" and write it into the "movie".
Its like Bewitched... and it didn't work there either.
It sort of sounds like the remake of Bewitched with Will Ferrell. The remake of Bewitched is all about an actor remaking Bewitched.
