Odd loyalties and character analysis

Obviously there is a lot wrong with this movie, I don't even care to get into it. But if we just focus on the character psychology part, I found some things odd.

Anna is a sociopath type of person, manipulative, doesn't care about anyone and at different times tried to cause death of different characters when the opportunity showed itself (she even urged for Jordan to kill Luke at one point, and I think tried to get Alex to do the same.) She has no loyalties even though she acts like she does, and that is consistent. She also emerges as a pack leader to a small group made of Luke and Alex. To win them over, she uses manipulation, sex and seduction (She didn't have sex with Alex but it is clear she had sexual hold on him as well.)

Alex and Luke are totally different and all along they seem like they would dislike each other. Luke, because he generally doesn't give a *beep* about anyone there except Anna (I actually don't think he is *that* bad, I think he is a better person than Anna and Alex but went into hardcore survival mode.) Alex, because Luke's attitude created clear animosity - Luke ate his roach. Luke isn't "nice." Luke *beep* Anna whom Alex wanted to *beep*. So pretty much Alex and Luke shouldn't care about each other and should be the biggest competitors. Especially Alex, getting more and more insane, should likely focus on Luke as the next target, more so than Jordan or Anna.

But then what happens? Alex starts going crazy and Anna slightly urges Luke to react, but Luke doesn't instantly decide to make him the next victim but rather tries to calm him down and appears genuinely concerned. He is reminding him that no one else but Jordan has to die and clearly shows loyalty towards Alex.

And then the most interesting thing happens - Alex still loses his *beep* and goes for it, but he doesn't attack Luke whom you'd think would be the obvious target, but Anna. Luke then kills him but only out of necessity.

Another interesting thing before this scene was when Luke was tied down and Anna and Alex went for Grant. Luke keeps asking them to untie him and it seems like they wouldn't. But they do end up untying him although he was at that moment an easy victim, although Anna like I said doesn't care for anyone, and Alex should resent Luke for the attitude and roach incident. But they team up and like I said above, keep up some type of mutual loyalty.

It is also interesting that at the same time they all decide that Jordan is next. I get the reasoning of her being the one who didn't want Grant to go, but later she is no longer a threat, especially without the scalpel. In fact the biggest apparent threat to any character there would seem to be Luke (although it's really Anna and even Alex), but he got released while Jordan who demonstrated morality became nothing but future food in their minds.

I don't know, I just find it interesting. I wonder if such characters would really develop comparable dynamics (while obviously I know that irl none of them would really turn to cannibalism so soon and go into full savage mode.)
