Ha! I was thinking the same thing. That's just nasty... But knowing Hollywood horror flicks where there's always like an obligatory sex scene. And lookie here, they even put two for this movie!

They were down to alevel were sex, sleep and eating was the only thing they cared about - like animals.
I think this scene was legit. It also showed how Anna exploited her means of survival.
