Bad movie, great cast, except for.......

This was a pretty awful movie that had a remarkable cast, for the most part.

I love Zooey, John, Ed and Jane - I really can't imagine why any of them agreed to be in this movie.

I had never heard of Paul Dano before. Does he always look as bad as he looked in this movie? Based on his pic posted on his profile here, it seems the way he looked in this movie is the way he always looks (yuck!). I honestly found his appearance so distasteful, I honestly had to look away, whenever there was a closeup of his face!

I'm thinking this Dano guy got the part for one of these reasons:

1. After casting the other four, he was all they could afford.

2. They knew they had such great box office draw with the names Goodman, Asner, Deschanel and Alexander (talk about talent!) that they could cast just about anyone in the male lead.

3. One of Dano's relatives invested in this ridiculous movie, with the condition that he be given the lead part.

Dano tends to play weird characters. I actually dated a girl who was an ex of his, and she told me how he tended to be more attracted to bizarre roles. See him in There Will Be Blood (if you can last through that movie) and Little Miss Sunshine. I appreciate his fearlessness in taking on roles.

you're entitled to your opinion but you sound like a moron. Paul Dano's been around a while, he's a talented actor who usually does small independent films. He wasn't the problem in this crap film- it was zooey deschanel. Her character was just beyond annoying
