Robert Durst has been arrested for Susan Berman's murder

Apparently he was arrested today in New Orleans after the LAPD issued a warrant for his arrest, charging him with Ms. Berman's murder. Perhaps he may finally divulge Kathleen's whereabouts now that he's facing a first-degree murder charge.

Just saw on the news in Australia that he accidentally admitted to the three murders when he was doing a hbo doco, he went to the toilet and didn't realise he still had the microphone on. Straight away thought about this and came here to see if anyone commented. Glad they finally got him! Even though it's years later.

This guy is a psychopath, and I'm glad he's actually being punished for the sick *beep* he's done. There is a commentary on the DVD with him and the director of this film, and the way he talks about the film and the actual events is hair-raising. The sickest part is that it's clear and always has been clear that he was responsible for Kathleen's death as well as Susan's, but it just couldn't be proven. Throughout the commentary you can sense the tension between him and the director— they both know the truth, but Durst refuses to come out and say it for obvious reasons. Pretty bold move to have the only suspect, a convicted killer, doing an audio commentary on a film about his life. It's very strange.

Huh? He's never been convicted of killing anyone.

reply

Okay, maybe not convicted of first degree murder, but the man admittedly sawed his elderly neighbor's corpse into pieces and dumped it in a bay. Self-defense or not, he shot the guy and dismembered him. That enough for you? Christ, people on IMDb astound me.

You can't blame people on IMDb for you not being sharp enough to get your facts straight.

He has just pleaded guilty to federal firearm charges. He had a 38 caliber pistol in his New Orleans hotel room. They think he was planning to flee the country. As a convicted felon he was not allowed to posses a forearm. The deal allows him to delay his return to California to face murder charges for 85 months.

A lot can happen in 85 months.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

Durst did a commentary for this film? Seriously? I only saw the first 20 minutes of it and never got around to watching the whole thing, but hell yeah, it light of the current issues surrounding him, that IS creepy as hell. Just saw the case of 48 HOURS, and it tripped me out how his lawyer was trying to spin the case, and claim that Durst was set up by the directors of THE JINX, even when it was pointed out to him that it was Durst himself who volunteered to be interviewed for THE JINX in the first place. So Durst basically set himself up,when you think about it. Basically, in a nutshell, only an overly arrogant person would have done what Durst did and open himself up to even more speculation by doing a show like THE JINX to begin with. That says a hell of a lot about him right there.

And,yeah, I think he's guilty as hell---I think it's ironic that after all these years of escaping conviction, he finally ended up busting himself--go figure.

Please tell us MORE about Robert Durst's commentary on the DVD version! I just watched this movie streaming on Amazon Prime and can't get over how many NEW details about the Durst case are in this flick vs. current TV coverage or The Jinx (HBO series about Durst produced and directed by Jarecki too.) Of course the new documentary is what got all this current media frenzy going, but I would LOVE to see the clips from the DVD. Have they been posted anywhere?? Can't imagine what Durst says at that time (2010.)

Points in this movie that I wonder about given current arrest of Durst for Berman's murder. Did Morris Black (aka Malvern Bump in in this movie) actually go to California at that time? Has that been established now? If Black killed Berman for Durst, then it certainly explains much more about the motive for the Galveston shooting and dismemberment (by Durst) of "neighbor" Black!!

Finally, what was old man Durst (Frank Langella as Sanford Marks in movie) doing/looking at in the trunk of the Mercedes at the end? Something I missed there.

I think this is GREAT watching given the current status of the case!! Thanks!

I only watched about half the film with the commentary on, because honestly it kind of made me uncomfortable to even listen to it. I have the DVD and will have to re-watch it again sometime, but I recall the director talking with him and Durst saying "Yeah, that is basically how it happened" in regard to a lot of things. He also mentioned how he didn't like that the film insinuated that he killed Kathy's dog (ahem, okay).
