All in all, Pretty Good

OK, I've read some of the previous posts, and I can understand the mixed reviews. Nevertheless, I'm a fan of the VGs, so my opinion is a little biased.

All in all, I thought it was pretty good. The fighting scenes were action-packed. The animation rivaled a Disney Pixar film, and I liked how they tied in references to RE2, RE3, RE4, and made a homage to the first and second movies with the layout of WilPharma's office/research facilities.

Something else that I got from it was the documentation of how our own elected officials would get involved in something like this for personal gain, even if it costs the lives of thousands of their own people. What Senator Davis did reminds me of the provocation by the U.S. of Japan attacking Pearl Harbor, the nuclear testing from 1945-1963 that gave--and killed--thousands in Utah cancer, the "conspiracy" surrounding the JFK assassination, and the rumors that the Bush administration saw 9/11 coming and did nothing to prevent it. Oh yeah, can't forget the one that says AIDS is a man-made virus and the government has the cure, they just haven't gone public with it yet.

Angela Miller's character was pretty sexy and I surely thought that her and Leon were gonna hook-up at the end. She kinda' threw me with that dress she had on after seeing her in her combat fatigues, but my goodness she was stacked nicely.

Only 2 knocks for me: one, of course, was how the Marines were portrayed in that they were that ineffective against G-Curtis. Surely more than one would have been equipped with an M16/grenade launcher, and I read on the trivia section of this page that that was the wrong pattern camoflauge.
Also, Leon got KNOCKED on his ASS. Unless he was wearing kevlar under his shirt, he should have been a quadripalegic. But then , he gets right back up and has the running, acrobatic race to get off the platform that would have made the most fleet-footed wide receiver or running back in the NFL jealous. Alas, let us remember that it's a movie based off of a video game. After all, this is the same Leon who took a round in the shoulder to protect Ada, so he's obviously got that toughness in him.

Thus, as I said earlier, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would have loved to have seen it at the movie theatre for the surround-sound experience. I will definitley be adding it to my DVD collection. Hopefully, Wal-Mart will have it in the $5 pile.

That's my humble 2-cents' worth.
