I don't see why Resident Evil tries to incorporate character romances...

I mean... The game's too short to develop an effective romantic relationship between characters, and then they just throw new romantic interests in at a whim, and piss of the fans.

Example: Jill/Carlos, Jill/Chris, Chris/Sheva, Claire/Leon, Claire/Steve, Leon/Ashley, Leon/Ada, Leon/Angela, Leon/Hunnigan.

LMFAO. Now that I actually took the time to think about it, look at how many women they've tried to throw at Leon.

Maybe Leon's gay. ;)

Actually I think Leon's true love is Ada, which is why he didn't make a move on Claire or took up Ashley or Angela's offers.

Chris I don't think ever had a love interest. Nothing in RE 5 hints towards a Chris/Sheva relationship and I think Chris views Jill as a partner moreso than anything else.

LMAO I agree. I just played RE2 again and Leon acts like he knows Ada all his life, but in truth, he's only known her for about an hour or so LOL. Saying things like "That's a lie! I know her. Ada wouldn't do something like that!"

I paused for a second and said "wait a minute, it's only been about an hour since they met!"

RE2 is my fave but Leon catching feelings for Ada that quickly is the only major flaw I see.

Most of the pairings you listed are fandom-made only. Fandom made pairings are pretty common.

The only real romances we could infer are Claire/Steve, Ada/Leon, Angela/Leon. MAYBE Jill/Carlos (but it was one-sided). Leon flirted a little bit with Hunnigan, but that was it. Claire and Leon have a good relationship, but it's platonic. Chris and Jill have a deep bond but nothing romantic has been suggested in it.

I thought Steve and Claire's "relationship" was 1-sided in the original Code Veronica.

I thought Claire just felt sorry for Steve and she cared about him because they did become friends who trusted eachother throughout all those horrific situations.

And Steve is the only character who has actually admitted to being in love.

Then in Darkside Chronicles, they had to put in that soppy scene where Claire puts her hand on Steve's while he flies the plane.

To be honest, I'm not sure whether it's only one-sided or not. Like you said about that scene. I think it was possible she was beginning to accept Steve romantically, although that's probably left for interpretation.

I was never a big fan of Carlos in RE3, until I saw him in Umbrella Chronicles. He has a much sexier voice in UC, and if I was Jill, I'd stick with him instead of Chris, easy.

I've always been pretty "meh" about him. Billy on the other hand...
The characters do actually show signs of affection and love but its only hinted at and left to our imagination.

RE0. You could say there were feelings between Billy and Rebecca but thats cause Rebecca was the only one who believed Billy's story when he was betrayed by his own people. That was more of a relationship of trust and respect.

For the most part, it was pretty platonic, despite how much I'd like Billy/Rebecca to be canon.
I admit, Leon falling for Ada is pretty quick but stuff like that tends to happen. They were both in danger and they both saved each others lives. If anything the two grew an affection and respect for one another after the events.

I thought it was stupid as *beep*. Even the romantic development in CVX seemed more reasonable. And playing DSC made me dislike Ada/Leon all so much more. Ada by herself is unlikeable.
Leon and Angie. Leon showed he cared. Love, maybe not. Like yes. Same he likes every girl he sees. But it isn't love. Its pretty much confirmed his heart longs for Ada.

This too is a horrible pairing with horrible development. Angela was a useless character with no purpose. Jesus christ, what's with Leon falling all over every girl he sees?

But really though, I hope Ada dies.

The only romance in the series would be Leon and Ada. The next closest thing would be the one sided crush Steve had on Claire in RECV. The rest is pure speculation by the fanbase.

Screaming "I wuv yoo" after a few hours of knowing someone counts as romance? All right then...

Leon/Claire never once crossed my mind, and I don't think they ever intended any sort of romance for those two. Friends or survival buddies maybe, but Claire was a lot more caught up in finding her brother in RE2. And they probably thought Ada was closer to Leon's age too.

I really enjoy the romances the series has offered us. Especially Chris/Jill, Leon/Ada and Steve/Claire, but I agree, they need to develop them more if they actually want people to care about them.

Jean Grey could have lived to become a god, but it was more important to her she die... a human.

i never felt chris and jill had any romantic attachments, they were close but really only partners. Leon and Ada really was the only romantic storyline. i mean maybe once chris and Jill finish chasing zombies and live a normal life, maybe then they might find that they love each other.

And who on earth actually considers Leon and claire in any sort of romantic situation?. When have they ever even hugged?, even when they meet up in degeneration, presumebly the first time since raccoon city they greeted each other like neighbours, or at least Leon did.

Was that the first time they'd met since Raccoon city?.

LeonxClaire is just one of those fan-created pairings simply because people believe they look cute together. It's not like there's anything wrong with it - that happens all of the time, as I'm sure everyone knows.

I, personally, think they look cute together as well, but I don't believe it's the end of the world if nothing ever happens between them. I don't know the age difference they have, but I really am not a fan of couples that are more than 4 years apart, anyway.

They do have a nice brother/sister-like relationship, so that's good enough for me, I suppose. I just wish they had interacted more in Degeneration. It was rather disappointing that they didn't.

In the novels Leon and Claire are an actual item. It's not necessarily canon in the game, but that's still an official source.

I didn't know that. Huh. That is pretty cool!

And,@BobreyShev_777 - I don't know how people can claim they may have wanted someone "closer to Leon's age" when Claire is only 2 years younger. And, actually...I think Ada is older than him.

This isn't a fan rant. The age difference(s) are factual.

Yeah. And Steve was actually supposed to be Leon in Code Veronica and he wanted to be with Claire. But because of Leon's popularity they decided to change the character to Steve so they could keep him around. That's why they looked so alike.

I did read that. That is an interesting note. And, yet, there's little indication of LeonxClaire and quite a bit with LeonxAda. I don't get it.
