Resident Evil Degeneration was so bad...

Degeneration was boring as ass, the whole story should ended after the airport sequence, but no, they tried to add more story and twist but they failed, I hate what happened after the airport sequence, it so unnecessary.

The atmosphere was done wrongly, it doesn't even as scary as any of the live-action movie, and it doesn't even entertaining!! It boring as hell!!

The animation is awful, Leon looks like a robot all the time, Claire has fake smile all the time, all the characters skin looks like it was made from plastic, the eyebrow are drew, the hair doesn't solid and always moving unnaturally, the motion capture didn't make the characters move nature, and the worst part is the lip syncing was sooo bad~~~

I didn't hate Degeneration completely I think the airport sequence was done ok, and I'm kinda enjoy it, but after that it was a huge let down, I mean a zombie movie with zombies appear only in the first 30 minutes and the rest was just talking and boring stuff? Are you kidding me?

Airport is a very big place and they should've make the whole movie happens in the airport, and make the characters split into two but keep in contact, one group inside the airport, and while they trying to survive the zombie outbreak, the other group that stay outside, doing research and reveal the truth of Wilpharma and involved into the facility outbreak. I mean this is more interesting than what we've got.

You had a valid argument until you made the implication that the live action movies were scary, which they're not, not in the least.

Well the live-action films actually have some pretty good scare in the original trilogy especially the 1st movie, back then Paul WS Anderson haven't addicted with 3D camera crack and actually care about making good movie with some good scare, you should watch his earlier film Event Horizon.
The other two directors that did Apocalypse and Extinction did some pretty good job too, after that, Paul took back the director's seat and went Michael Bay + Matrix with Afterlife and Retribution...
But Degeneration, I still remember back then my 8 years old cousin could watch the movie without being scare at all, she can't even watch the live-action movies cause she thought it's scary.

I can forgive the plot holes. But the characters motivations for saying and doing what they do was driving me bonkers.

Poorly written, but at least we got a decent action sequence at the end.

i rented this movie when it came out and it was terrible. After the airport situation, this movie took a nose dive into hell

Well... think of this as being an... an endless barrage of cutscenes without the actual game in between. It's like they made the cgi but forgot to make a game for all that.
It wasn't bad. For someone that has played most of the series I can say it fits the atmosphere completely. Which is just one of its problems. Because, you see, in any of the actual games, you get to spend time being the character or interacting with them, getting to know them or become them. So in that way it becomes more personal. You wouldn't be able to do that just by watching the cutscenes. And that's all this animation is, so anybody not invested in the series or the characters will not be able to make the emotional connection.

The same thing happened with FFVII Advent Children. If you haven't played the games, you'd have no clue what the hell was going on. But that film was brilliant in its own right. There was much more effort put into Advent Children than in RE: Degeneration. Still, you needed to be a fan to really appreciate it.

If you think of it as one big cutscene, without the gameplay in between, this movie isn't that bad.

I mean, I don't know what people expected from a straight to DVD game adaptation. I expected a 90 minute cutscene and I got one.

if you rewatch it, do you usually turn it off after the airport!?

I'll never rewatch that movie, I rather rewatch the original live-action movie or Damnation, which is a much better perhaps the best Resident Evil movie yet.
But yeah, if I have to rewatch Degeneration I will turn it off after the Airport sequence ended.
