This will become a BLOCKBUSTER!

Just saw it today at a private screening. Haven't laughed this hard in a long time. AND cried...One of the best transformations of Garcia. He plays a totally different character from everything he's done before. All the cast is absolutely perfect! LOVED IT!!! Awesome job!

My prediction: This will become a BLOCKBUSTER!!!

I saw this movie in a film festival. I too think that this movie will be a Blockbuster!!! Best performance of Andy Garcia and rest of the cast! Where was the private screening and how did you get an invitation? Just curious!

reply

It was a screening for members of Women in Film at the Gold Class Cinemas in Pasadena. I got an invitation because I'm a member.
Both me and my friend LOVED IT!

Got great instinct for this project!

Wish to them all the best;)

Thanks for your reply to my questions. I read in Twitter.com about this event today and Andy was supposed to be there. Did Andy come to this event? If so, can you tell me more as I am a big fan of Andy. Thanks!

reply

Yes he did come. He and the Director/Writer spoke to us briefly before the movie starts. They gave us some information about how they got the project made, made a few jokes and that was about it. When the movie ended they were already gone.

reply

Thanks! I wished I was there.

"A nice little movie" was LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and so was MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING until they were seen by wider audience.

reply

No way this is gonna be anything close to a blockbuster. I loved it though. 9/10

Fun Movie! Very 1980s Married to the Mob in style. The "look" of the movie was very 1980s as well--is it the film stock they use, the cameras, or just how its lighted/filmed. I don't know but it was fun to see.

Just saw the movie and it`s truly beautiful...

reply

LOL@ blockbuster, not even close. It's a good movie and I enjoyed it more than the overrated hangover, but this type of film won't appeal to the masses in theaters.

I just loved it too. The casting was brilliant. And the writting was VERY fresh. I laughed pretty hard. Just a zany mix of characters and the story line was what really made it great. Cudos to the director and writer. I fell in love with the whole dysfunctional family. The house location was a brilliant find. Great job to all involved. Thanks for a good one.

This was really a great movie. Truly fits the definition of a hidden gem.

But it's the complete opposite of a blockbuster. It cost 6 million dollars and grossed 92 600 according to box office mojo. Does that even cover the costs of prints? I wouldn't really call it a flop(although it certainly didn't make money) since it's widest release was 7 theaters, wasn't a really expensive movie and probably had zero promotions. But I doubt this will make any money on DVD either since it's virtually totally and completely unknown. A shame really, cause I think it could make some money if it had some more promotion.
Hope it gets picked up for a rerelease or something.
