for some reason this outstanding French film seems to be flying under everyone's radar.

catch it if/when you get the chance.

It was easily the best film I saw at Edinburgh this year. The scene where Stella re-meets her friend Genevieve after a long absence is breathtaking -- hats off to all concerned, especially little Laetitia Guerard (as Genevieve).

A smaller but equally worthy film, Sylvie Verheyde's Stella offers a complicated look at childhood.

Yes, great film and wonderful soundtrack.
