I've played all the Larry games including the last - all were good.

This is terrible, it's just a bad game with bad jokes and not even any titilation. Trust me.

I've 1k/1k'd gamerscore on it(one of only a few hundred) and I can say with the utmost authority it is atrocious. Patrick Warburton was the only highlight. The controls are terrible, the scenario design is terrible, the mini games are terrible, and the dialogue is mediocre at best. Oh. And the combat... good lord, what were they thinking even including it in the game as bad as it was. The worst part is that after I did everything possible in the game to 100% it for an achievement it didnt give credit... so I had to play the game from the start to 100% a second time. So yeah. Terrible, terrible game.

I agree 100%. I'm a long-term fan of LSL, and even enjoyed the previous LSL:MCL (which some fans rejected because it was done without the participation of Al Lowe, the original creator).

I wanted to like BOB, I really did. But it's an atrocity in every way it's possible for a game to be an atrocity. Bad plotting, rotten humor, awkwardness, program bugs. Amazingly bad, considering the overall layout (a movie studio) is interesting, and they brought in name actors and a supposedly-reputable design team.

I wonder how the development went so far astray. Part of the problem was probably financial. They got caught up in the global crunch, and the game passed from Vivdendi to Codemasters toward the end of its development cycle. That would account for some lack of polish. But the problems run far deeper, and I don't think it could be substantially improved without starting over. Did they know they were off track? They must have.
