What I DO love about this show.

Whether or not you believe in man-made global warming, it's interesting but obvious that we're fools to think we've got that big an impact on nature, God, Mother Earth, whatever you call it. I've watched a lot of the series and it's always the same...the Earth begins to take things back almost immediately and within a hundred years or less, most of what humans have created is gone or completely unrecognizable. We are INSIGNIFICANT in the grand design but we're conceited enough as a species to think we're really in control. Our hold against nature is tenuous at best. Makes me think...

On a side note, what must it cost to CGI out all of the people, cause really, it would get expensive and cumbersome to shut down attractions and other places, or skulk around until nobody's there to do the cinematography.

great post, I wish I had composed it...we are but peons on this planet and in its history…if nothing else, these last couple of earthquakes ought to teach us that, with but a shake, our buildings break in half and come tumbling down, roads crack, everything we build can so easily be destroyed by a single natural incident, and yet, we really believe we can control our environment...the arrogance...it will be our end

I've wondered about that, too. For some places, I suppose they could film there during the "off season" or on days they are going to be closed, but for places like Times Square, I don't know. They have shown a couple of behind-the-scenes vignettes this season, but only how they aged a couple of statues, I wish they would show how they do the places.
