Pointless

Who cares about all our stuff if no one is here to notice its decay? The Space Needle succumbs to mother nature in blah blah years....If no one it's here to witness it, is it really surprising or dramatic? If we fade to dust when we die like so many would like to believe, why would it matter if all of our glorious stuff decays?

It only has significance if there is someone around to consider its significance.

LOL typical narcissistic human thinking "if we're not here, who cares about anything? Nothing matters without the presence of us!" I, for one, find the idea of this beautiful planet living on and thriving without us to be fascinating, it's thinking like yours from humans that allowed us to single handedly (in a manner of speaking) almost destroy this gift of a world because of our greed and inability to see past our own needs and wants.

I love the idea of the planet being able to finally recover after we're gone. It was cool to see how it was invisioned and the CG was used to illustrate it. Sorry you're too closed minded to enjoy this neat flick but your loss.

Yes, typical....I care about people, crazy right? If you want the " mother earth" to heal, and we don't matter, then volunteer yourself, your children, or your girlfriend or boyfriend. You are just as closed minded as anyone, just on the side of loathing humanity. If you hate your existence opt out. Probably another save the earth type that drives a Bmw, and tears down existing houses to build "green" ones. Yes, humanity has done some pretty stupid and selfish things. Show me your bicycle and Palm hut then I will take your people hating/ wish we were all dead proselytizing more seriously.

Deep thinking. Must be a nice Beemer, or SUV. I quite obviously did not mean for you to actually kill yourself. It was a mental exercise. My point was that some people love "romantic" ideas of a people-less earth, but rarely consider themselves in the equation. They rarely give it any real thought, because to do so would reveal their own " guilt". It's so easy to sit back and deride evil humanity and wish for a change, when most complaintants are easily as much a part of the " problem" as anyone. Live in a nice home? What was it built from? Is it too big? What is too big? Drive a nice car? Why not a bike? Even a bike causes the use of resources. I am in agreement that the planet needs a break, and we should give it one when we can, in sensible ways, whenever possible. Do I always? Of course not. Yes I love people, but I also love this wonderful planet that is full of beauty, sustains us, and that sometimes is over used and abused. I'm just not all gung ho about everyone I love being sacrificed so that the earth can recover. What part of the equation are you? Obscenities don't convey your ideas, just your anger.

Also, my point wasn't that I care about our " stuff" Just the opposite, the only beings that give any thought to our "stuff" is us. So if we are gone, so too is the only reason that that the stuff has meaning, however insignificant that meaning is. Nothing else gives a wit about our creations. So, what's the point of giving more than passing consideration to the demise of creations of beings that no longer exist? I think it's somewhat interesting, but to create an entire Show about is pointless and boring. Yay the evil humans are dead, now let's see how fast their stuff deteriorates. Who cares?

The only reason there is any consideration of any of this is because there are beings that are able to consider it. Wether or not the being has a high estimation of itself doesn't matter. You loathing our existence doesn't diminish the fact that we are the ones that are doing the considering. Animals bugs, plants and inanimate objects don't consider the future, at least not with any depth. So, if that is narcissism, so be it I guess.

Also a typical dickhead Internet user, telling people to go kill themselves if he doesn't agree with their opinion. You're a shining example of these humans you care so much about.
