Today I've found a DVD in a store which says "running time 116 min". Does anyone know what's missing / what has been cut from the short version? The movie should have 121 minutes, so there are 5 minutes missing. I wonder if I should buy this version...
I can't be sure but after watching the uncut, I bet anything they just trimmed things for pacing. There are a lot of slow moving scenes where the camera is just idle and things are still. It really sets the mood but studios probably wanted to get things below 2 hours for their international audiences. Get the Criterion edition if you want to get the most out of this movie
