Did they really drive to the scene together?

The movie displays the members of the Bang Bang Club driving to scenes of conflicts together in their red VW bus and then trying to stay closely together. Is this consistent with the actual events, or just dramatisation? Because in reality, this would lead to them taking similar photos and not being able to cover the whole event. As a photographer, you usually try to keep far away from other photojournalists.
