Caesarian

So she didn't have a Caesarian section like she wanted? She pushed out this baby or does anyone know? Very cute baby, BTW.

She didn't want a cesarean section. Someone asked her earlier in the season and she said she wanted a regular vaginal birth. That's what she got, as far as we know at this point. There were NO scenes of her in the hospital.

^Really? I thought she wanted a C-Section.

I just went back to episode 4 (streaming) to re-watch the footage of when they visited the doula.

1. Rodger asked the doula "If we're having a C-Section, why do we need a doula?"

2. The doula asked Rachel "Do you want a vaginal delivery?" Rachel answered "No."

I really don't remember that exchange. I remember someone asking her if she was having a regular birth, and she said something like, "That's the plan." But we really don't know yet what she had.

Yipes, it's been a while since I had my kids, but I did not know you could actually chose whether to have a regular birth or a Cesarean. In my day, having a Cesarean was only because there was something wrong w your physical ability to deliver naturally.

Apparently some women these days have become "too posh to push" and find doctors that will schedule elective c-sections for them. They're being shortsighted, IMO. I've had a c-section and regular births and pushing is much, much easier with a much shorter recovery time.

Why would someone WANT to risk having a scar, and worse, risk getting an infection or any other things that could happen with a c-section?!

reply

I've known people that preferred c-sections.A psister-in-law of mine was quite put out that she had to suffer through ANY labor pains. She just didnt think she should have to when there was an alternate. She had c-sections with all her kids, but with the last kid, the doctor was late to get her procedure started and she went into labor. She was beyond pissed that she was having to experience the pain.

Most likely for the elective 'tummy-tuck' most celebrities opt to add in during the procedure. Their mindset is 'why fight to get my shape back' when they can just scoop out the extra and tuck it under at the same time as the birth.

And we all know how obsessed Rachel is with her size/being extremely thin. It completely makes sense she'd want the optional tuck.
