good movie, bad ending

First off, loved the movie. It was slow but I think it worked. But that ending.
Anyone else disappointed it was Sam in the hospital bed. It would have been better if Sam dies, then the old man is in the hospital getting patched up implying that he will try this again for the next eclipse. Didn't like that Sam survived

True that might have worked better; then the family would've failed. Again a reason this is more 60's/70's. In that time period the villain won (Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Audrey Rose etc.) Unlike the 80's where there was usually a heroin.

Always be yourself... Unless you can be Batcatt

Nah, that sounds like a cheesy set-up for a sequel. The ending as it is, is far creepier.

At first I thought it was cheap that she survived, I thought it would have been a better ending if she died. But when it's revealed she's pregnant with presumably the antichrist I thought that ending was even better

See you at the party, Richter!

Yeah that ending really creeped me out. It made me go down memory lane where in 70's horror movies you would see the credits during the last scene where something bad just happened. Like in the classic movies Omega Man, Beneath The Planet of The Apes, The Omen, Stepford Wives, The Clonus Horror, etc.

What kind of beast couldn't get along with a precious little girl like this?
