So, I just watched this movie, I mean, I was really only half there for the first hour (demanding toddler present) but I can tell not a lot happened in that time frame. I did watch the last 30 mins or so properly though and my question is, why the hell did Sam survive a gunshot to the head? I'm clear on that they impregnated her with something and the hour or so of nothing was supposed to build tension (debatable) but that ending, they lost me. So, yeah, why on earth is she even remotely alive?!

cause she's preggers with satan's kid. mrs. ulman says at one point "no matter what you do, you can't stop it. it can't be stopped" (paraphrasing here) -- so yeah, a shot to the head won't do crap over satanic magical powers. sam will probably die as soon as the antichrist is born.

It's possible to survive a bullet to the head. However it's extremely unlikely.
